Tipps für einen gesunden Saunabesuch

Tips for a healthy sauna visit

Regular sauna visits are becoming increasingly popular; a nice day of wellness with friends, your partner or family is good for the heart. But visiting the sauna is also very healthy for the body! It strengthens the immune system, trains the heart and circulation and is also good for the skin. Fans treat themselves to this pleasure all year round. However, there are a few important rules that must be followed when using the sauna:

1. Take it easy! Don't rush into the sauna experience.

2. Before the first session, shower and remove makeup if necessary so that the pores can breathe. Then dry thoroughly, because dry skin sweats faster than moist skin.

3. The first session should not last longer than 8-10 minutes so that your body can get used to the hot temperature. The higher the bench, the higher the temperature. It is important that you feel comfortable! Set the last 1-2 minutes to the lowest setting to allow your circulation to return to normal.

4. After every sauna session, there is a cooling-down phase. You can then jump straight into the cold plunge pool or take a slow shower, from your legs up to your heart.

5. Now comes the rest phase to relax the body. This phase lasts at least as long as the previous sauna session.

Please note
Drink plenty of fluids after each sauna session, as the body loses a lot of water through sweating.
