It has now become common knowledge that regular sauna use is very healthy and beneficial for your well-being. In this article, you will find out why you should go to the sauna more often and what effects this has on your body, mind and soul. 7 reasons why sauna use makes you healthy and alert:
1. Sauna strengthens your immune system
The high temperatures of the sauna and the subsequent cooling down strengthen our body's immune system. Sauna bathing therefore provides a natural defense against diseases.
2. Saunas improve your circulation
The repeated temperature changes also have an effect on your circulation. Regular sauna sessions improve your body's supply of oxygen.
3. Sauna improves your skin
The heat in the sauna causes your blood vessels to expand and your skin is better supplied with blood and oxygen. A visit to the sauna also removes dead skin cells and ensures clean pores. You can support this process by using sauna salt or sauna sugar. You can read about the effect of skin care products in another blog post. Anyone who struggles with dry skin should also visit the sauna regularly, as the skin can store the high humidity better. A lack of moisture also promotes the formation of wrinkles.
4. Sauna improves your breathing
Your respiratory organs are also stimulated by the change in temperature. In the heat, you can breathe more deeply. Breathing deeply trains your respiratory organs, and in the long run, you should be able to take in more air. You will particularly benefit from the moist, hot air, which ensures that your mucous membranes are better supplied with blood, if you have problems with your bronchi.
5. Sauna relaxes your muscles
It is especially good if you have just done some exercise, as taking a sauna prevents sore muscles.
6. Sauna improves your well-being
Anyone who enters the hot temperatures of a sauna promotes the body's production of so-called happiness hormones such as serotonin and endorphins, which increase well-being.
7. Sauna helps with sleep problems
The increased serotonin level in the brain caused by going to the sauna is said to have a sleep-inducing effect.
